FORMER AEW WOMEN’S CHAMPION OFFICIALLY ENTERS THE OWEN HART TOURNAMENT

I still don’t know when the men and women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments will begin in AEW, but I do know that Hikaru Shida is now part of the women’s field.

The former AEW women’s world champion announced the news herself in the following video that aired on tonight’s (June 15) one year anniversary episode of Collision.

The winners of the men and women’s Owen Hart Tournaments will go on to challenge for their respective world titles at August’s All In pay-per-view in London’s Wembley Stadium. The women’s tourney now includes Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, Mariah May, Shida, and I’m pretty sure Saraya is also in based on Harley Cameron’s interview on Rampage.

No new names were announced for the men’s bracket on Collision, so the current list of participants remains Bryan Danielson, PAC, and Shingo Takagi.

The finals of the tournament will take place on the July 10 Dynamite in the Calgary Saddledome.

How do you like Shida’s chances in The Owen, Cagesiders?
