BRAD KESELOWSKI TALKS ABOUT TONY STEWART'S CHARTERS AFTER GENE HAAS KEEPS ONE SHR CHARTER FOR NEXT SEASON

Brad Keselowski recently shared his thoughts on the shifts in the charter market following Gene Haas's decision to retain one charter. Haas plans to use the Cup charter next year for his Haas Factory team to boost his ventures, Haas Automation and HaasTooling.com. Additionally, one charter will be transferred to Front Row Motorsports.

The decision puts teams like RFK Racing and 23XI Racing in a bind if they consider purchasing a charter. It's rumored that Front Row Motorsports might acquire a charter for around $25 million. However, with Gene Haas holding onto one, only two remain available. If another team besides RFK Racing and 23XI Racing steps up to purchase a charter, it could potentially drive up the prices for teams led by Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin.

Ahead of the USA Today 301 race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Brad Keselowski weighed in on the charter market dynamics, explaining:

"I mean the charter market is... like anything else- Supply and demand. So, a reduction in supply increases demand whether that be through, the money you have to pay for or whatever else that might be. So many changes to that dynamics," via Frontstretch. [at 4:53]

Additionally, if Keselowski decides to acquire a charter in the future, he already has someone in mind who he may consider to pilot the RFK Racing car.

Does Brad Keselowski have a new driver's name on his mind if he decides to buy the third charter?

Currently, RFK Racing fields two cars: Brad Keselowski behind the wheel of the #6 Ford Mustang GT and Chris Buescher in the #17. However, as the co-owner of the team, Keselowski shared on Kevin Harvick's Happy Hour podcast that he believes:

"Three [charters] is kind of that sweet spot" [at 20:24]

When probed by Kevin Harvick about his ideal candidate for the potential third charter, Keselowski responded:

"I think right now, the best young talent [..] that I see at least, that could drive a Cup car, is probably Connor Zilisch. When I keep my eyes open, and I watch him race, he's the one that I see has the most potential. [...] If you told me, ‘Brad, go put a young driver in, make him a star, and here's all the money to do it,' he's the guy." [at 20:38]

So far, Brad Keselowski or the Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing team haven't made any public statements about acquiring a charter from the Stewart-Haas Racing team. Not to mention, the charter agreement is also in order.

As for performance, the two RFK Racing cars are holding their own in the competition. The #6 car, piloted by Brad Keselowski, is currently 9th in the driver standings with 498 points. That stat includes a victory at Darlington, along with seven top-5s and nine top-10s. Meanwhile, the #17 car, driven by Chris Buescher, is ranked 13th in the standings, with 435 points, three top-5 finishes, and seven top-10s.
