WNBA LEGEND SUE BIRD DISCUSSED 'UNFAIR' TREATMENT CAITLIN CLARK FACES BEFORE ANGEL REESE REMATCH
An unavoidable part of WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark's existence is that everybody has an opinion of her.
The Indiana Fever sensation's every action taken and word spoken gets analyzed, scrutinized, dissected by both sports media and fans.
And what must be so frustrating for Clark is that so few people have actually been in her position before.
Yet, one of those people who have is WNBA legend Sue Bird.
During an interview back in May, Bird shared her take on Clark's influence on women’s basketball.
“Sometimes it feels like the weight of the WNBA is on her shoulders," Bird said of Clark.
"That is both a compliment and warranted…but also a little bit unfair to put so much on her,” Bird added, via Vanshay Murdock on X.
Bird is a four-time WNBA champion who knows the sort of expectations that Clark is going through on a daily basis.
And while the Indiana Fever have turned things around since their rough start, it's only fair that Clark gets some grace from the rest of the world, too.
Although she likely won't be getting much grace from Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Sunday.
