WNBA FANS ROASTING BRITTNEY GRINER FOR PERFORMANCE IN MERCURY-SUN

On Monday evening, Brittney Griner and the Phoenix are taking on the Connecticut Sun in the second part of a back-to-back. The Mercury are looking to bounce back after a tough loss to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Sunday.

Mercury guard Diana Taurasi was ruled out for the game due to a back injury she suffered in the Fever game.

At the end of the first half, the Sun led the Mercury by a score of 42-35. The 6-foot-9 Griner recorded 10 points and only one rebound in the first 20 minutes of action.

At halftime, many WNBA fans took to social media to roast Griner for the lack of rebounds she recorded during the first two quarters. They cited the former Baylor Bear's height when criticizing her play.

"How Brittney Griner a 6’9” center and struggle to get rebounds?"

"Brittany Griner is 14ft tall and can dunk without jumping but can’t grab a board? Come on Griner, do better."

"Griner is 6’9 & scared to get rebounds smh"

"Aint no way britney griner 6”9 and can’t get a rebound"

"Griner too big to not have no rebounds"

"Griner with 1 rebound 1st half yikes"

Griner has averaged 19.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Had she played enough, she would rank 16th in the WNBA in rebounds per game. However, she missed the beginning of the season due to a toe injury, which sidelined her for a few weeks.
