UFC 303 VIDEO: JEAN SILVA WALKS OFF AFTER LANDING KNOCKOUT UPPERCUT

Jean Silva didn’t miss on fight night after missing the mark at weigh-ins.

A day after coming in heavy on the scale, Silva made sure that everyone will be talking about his UFC 303 performance after landing an incredible uppercut that knocked out featherweight veteran Charles Jourdain on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Watch Silva’s one-shot finish below.

The flashy Silva was giving Jourdain headaches from the opening bell, attacking from unorthodox angles and timing sniper strikes that sneaked through Jourdain’s defenses. Jourdan responded by mixing the martial arts, wrestling Silva to the mat to slow the Brazilian down.

But there was no stopping Silva and in Round 2, when he caught Jourdain with an uppercut as they battled along the fence that instantly dropped the Canadian to the canvas. No follow-up shot was necessary and Silva knew it, immediately walking off as referee Marc Goddard stepped in to make it official 1:22 into the period.

Silva’s win has a blemish on it as he came in at 147.5 pounds for the featherweight contest, 1.5 pounds over the limit. He forfeited 20 percent of his purse as penalty.

In the end, Silva (13-2) leaves T-Mobile Arena with a victory, improving to 2-0 in the UFC. Overall, he has won 10 straight fights.
