RED SOX REINSTATE CATCHER, OPTION TWO PLAYERS TO TRIPLE-A

While the Boston Red Sox don't have a game to play on Thursday, they're still keeping busy with some roster moves.

The team announced Thursday afternoon they've reinstated catcher Connor Wong from the paternity leave list and optioned both catcher Tyler Heineman and right-handed reliever Isaiah Campbell to Triple-A Worcester.

Wong has been one of the best catchers in the league this season, as he's hit .330 with an .870 OPS, seven home runs and 29 RBIs in 57 games. His return will definitely help Boston's offense, which didn't get anything out of Reese McGuire in his two games starting (0-for-6).

Heineman got his second at-bat with Boston on Tuesday, which was a strikeout. He's now 0-for-2 on the year.

Campbell made just one appearance for the major league club after returning from injury. He promptly gave up three runs in 1/3 of an inning on Monday against the Toronto Blue Jays.

With the one extra player going down to Triple-A, Boston has an extra spot that they can fill prior to Friday's game.
