WNBA REVEALS JUNE PLAYERS OF THE MONTH

On Tuesday afternoon, the WNBA revealed major awards for June 2024. In addition to announcing Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese as the Rookie of the Month, the WNBA also unveiled the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Month.

New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu and Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson were the recipients of the award.

Ionescu guided the Liberty to a 10-1 record during the month. She averaged 19.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 7.4 assists during that time frame.

Wilson, on the other hand, led the reigning champion Aces to a 6-4 record while tallying 27.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.

Both Ionescu and Wilson made the Team USA women's basketball roster for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics, which secured both players spots in the WNBA All-Star game.

Ionescu ranks fourth in the WNBA in assists per game throughout the entire season. She has also led the Liberty to the best record in the league.

Wilson ranks first in points and second in rebounds. She has won two WNBA MVP awards throughout her career and is on track to win her third.
