STEPHEN A. SMITH SOUNDS OFF ABOUT DIANA TAURASI'S DISMISSIVE CAITLIN CLARK COMMENTS

The Indiana Fever and the Phoenix Mercury are facing each other during the 2024 WNBA season on Sunday.

Which means that Caitlin Clark and Diana Taurasi will be squaring off for the first time.

This is an especially intriguing matchup for fans because since Taurasi (who is a WNBA legend) went viral a few months back for saying that, "there's levels" to this game, regarding Clark's WNBA career.

When Taurasi was asked about this upcoming matchup with Clark earlier this week, all she said was, "Yeah it'll be fun."

And Stephen A. Smith wanted to hear more from her.

During a segment on the "Stephen A. Smith Show", Smith replayed the footage of Taurasi's dismissive comment and said, "I expected more from Diana Taurasi, I ain't gonna lie about that.

"I expected something like 'can't wait'. I expected something like 'get your popcorn ready'. I expected something like 'oh yeah, I been waiting for this'," Smith added.

Although Smith then also mentioned that Taurasi's lack of words doesn't matter, because we know there's already underlying tension between these two WNBA icons.

In other words, Smith still can't wait to see Clark and Taurasi's showdown on Sunday.
