STAR PLAYER RULED OUT FOR INDIANA FEVER VS. CHICAGO SKY

The Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky will play their third matchup of the season on Sunday at 4:00 PM ET. Indiana leads the season series 2-0 over Chicago, and also holds a modest half-game lead over their Eastern Conference rivals, making this a huge contest for both sides.

While the injury reports are mostly clean for this game, Chicago will be without star forward Elizabeth Williams, who suffered a torn meniscus earlier this month that will require surgery. Williams is a one-time All-Star and had been averaging 10.0 PPG and 7.0 RPG in nine starts before this devastating injury news.

Since joining the Sky in 2023, Williams has started in all 49 games she has appeared in, averaging 9.8 PPG and 6.0 RPG. An All-Star in 2017, Williams is also a two-time All-Defensive team member, which makes her absence particularly difficult for Chicago to make up for on that end.

Over their four-game winning streak, Indiana boasts a league-best 114.2 offensive rating, which will certainly challenge a Chicago team missing one of their defensive anchors. While Williams is certainly missed on the court, her veteran leadership still has value, particularly for rookie forward Angel Reese.

The Caitlin Clark vs. Angel Reese battle is the one so many will be focused on entering this game, but both players are surrounded by talented teammates. That said, the Clark vs. Reese matchup is always intriguing, especially as the Rookie of the Year race heats up.

Entering this game, Clark leads all rookies with 16.2 points per game, and Reese leads all rookies with 10.8 rebounds per game.
