SHA'CARRI RICHARDSON JUST DOMINATED HER 200-METER HEAT

Sha'Carri Richardson was on cruise control in her opening 200 meter heat at the United States Olympic track trials Thursday night.

Richardson clocked a 21.99, the second-fastest time in the world this year, to easily win the first heat at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Richardson, who has already qualified for the upcoming Paris Olympics in the 100 meter dash, was .30 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

"My biggest thing, my coaches biggest thing is execution. Really just focusing in on executing the curve to make the straightaway much, much easier," Richardson told NBC Sports post-race. "I feel like today in the prelim, I did that great, but I have room for improvement. So I'm just excited for semis tomorrow."

Having her spot on the squad already wrapped up before tonight did little to change Richardson's approach.

"I feel like every time I touch the track, wherever I'm at, it's an opportunity for me to work on being my best self," she said. "Every time I touch the track, it's pressure."

Richardson will compete in the semifinals of the 200 meter tomorrow night, with the women's 200 meter final set for Saturday.
