KALEN DEBOER AND ALABAMA NAMED THE FAVORITES TO LAND YET ANOTHER FIVE-STAR RECRUIT

The weekend of May 31, Tuscaloosa was a hot spot for high school recruits as Kalen DeBoer and his staff hosted as many big names as possible before the month of June began.

One recruit who was a part of that weekend was five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood, and following Haywood's visit to Florida State a few weeks later On3 predicted Haywood would commit to Alabama.

Just yesterday, Haywood received a crystal ball from 247Sports' Sooners illustrated and Oklahoma insider Collin Kennedy to commit to Alabama.

Other than the Crimson Tide, Oklahoma and Florida State are the two other schools with serious interest in Haywood.

Haywood visited Tallahassee June 21 and Norman on June 14 and also took visits to Texas A&M and TCU.

Out of Ryan high school in Denton, Texas, Haywood is the No. 12 player overall in the country and No. 2 offensive tackle in his class according to the 247Sports Composite.

247Sports' recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks had this to say about Haywood.

"Simultaneously stout and long-armed, casting an imposing figure on the field while possessing more frame potential. Significantly longer than tall with great arm and wingspan numbers. Got better and better as junior season progressed, particularly in at-the-snap suddenness and explosion," Brooks said.  "High-level mover for the tackle position with quick feet, quick hands, and anchoring ability as well. Active feet when engaged fuel drive-blocking and block-finishing abilities. Projects as a future high-major multi-year starter with the potential to become a coveted NFL Draft candidate."

The Crimson Tide currently has the No. 2 recruiting class in the 247Sports rankings for the 2025 recruiting cycle. In their 20 commit class, Alabama has three offensive tackle commits in four-stars Jackson Lloyd and Micah Debose with three-star Mal Waldrep as well.
