INJURY NEWS ANNOUNCED BEFORE INDIANA FEVER VS. NEW YORK LIBERTY GAME

The Indiana Fever and New York Liberty will play each other on Saturday for the fourth team already this season. New York is 3-0 against Indiana this season, and will go for a sweep of the season series on Saturday.

None of the first three games between Indiana and New York this season have been very close. The Liberty defeated the Fever 102-66 in their first meeting, 91-80 in their second meeting, and 104-68 in their most recent battle. While these numbers do not look great for Indiana, they have been playing better as of late, and will enter this game against New York in improved form.

Ahead of this Eastern Conference showdown, an injury update was announced on the New York side, as injured center Nyara Sabally went through a complete shoot-around with the team for the first time since her back injury.

Sabally has not played since May 31st, having appeared in just eight games for the Liberty this season. Drafted fifth overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, Sabally has a lot of potential that has yet to fully show itself at the WNBA level.

The second-tallest player on New York's roster, the 6'5" Sabally gives her team some important size on both ends of the court. While her playing time was limited to start the season, Sabally showed some impressive defensive flashes while averaging 3.1 rebounds per game in just 11.6 minutes per game.

It seems possible that Sabally could be trending towards a return for Saturday's game against the Fever, as both teams have two days off before that matchup. Having been a full participant in her team's latest shoot-around, Sabally is getting close to a return, and perhaps it will come on the big stage against Caitlin Clark and the Fever.
