HISTORIC SEC RIVALRY NO LONGER VIEWED AS THE BEST AFTER CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT

On July 1, it became official that Oklahoma and Texas ditched the Big 12 for the SEC with the announcement that came out four years coming to fruition.

This fall, with the Sooners and Longhorns in the mix and the tearing down of the division method that had encapsulated the SEC for decades, rivalries will be both rekindled in some circumstances and lost in others.

Texas and Texas A&M will once again face off in what is one of the most ferocious rivalries the sports has to offer along with Arkansas versus Texas and Missouri versus Oklahoma starting again.

So, with the new landscape of college football and the SEC, CBS Sports took to the streets to rank the top 25 rivalries in the conference where it just means more.

Unexpectedly, the number one spot belongs to a game that hasn't even taken place in the SEC before and that is the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma.

While this game is awesome, with the Cotton Bowl venue and the half-burnt orange half red stands, there is absolutely no way this game should be number one in the conference it hasn't even played in.

There is one rivalry in this conference that has produced the most competitive atmospheres and games that pale in comparison to any other. Not only have the games in this series produced moments like the Kick Six and 4th and 31, but these two schools have won seven national titles in the past 17 years.

Somehow, at spot number two in these rankings is the legendary Iron Bowl.

Nick Saban went on a titanic rampage through the entirety of college football over the 17 years with shear dominance in every form of the word, but there was one school in one game that seemed to never back down.

The Auburn Tigers versus the Alabama Crimson Tide has given college football fans some of the most notorious, electric, and consequential games in history.

The Kick Six sent ruined Alabama's perfect season and a quest for a second straight national title, Jalen Milroe's 4th and 31 saves Alabama's playoff hopes in Saban's final season.

That is just a glimpse into the rivalry that is somehow ranked as the second best rivalry in its conference.
