HANGMAN PAGE RETURNS TO AEW WITH A NEW CHARACTER

Hangman Page has finally returned to AEW and made his first appearance in four months tonight. But it was quickly noticed that something had changed - he was bringing in a whole new persona.

He emerged as the wildcard for the Owen Hart Foundation tournament, taking on Jeff Jarrett in the final quarterfinal matchup. The Elite announced last week that the wildcard was their personal choice and someone who would bring the world title to the faction.

With Hangman not having been officially kicked out of The Elite previously, he emerged as a potential candidate. A few days ago on Collision, AEW officially teased his imminent arrival after showing a video package of the former AEW World Champion which was the first fans would see of him since Revolution in March.

Tonight, he officially came out as the wildcard. Hangman Page was seen with a new theme song and entrance video, seemingly hinting at a much darker version of himself.

This was also obvious in the way he acted during the match against Jarrett, as he was full of aggression against the veteran. He was also toying with him, where even after hitting his Deadeye finisher, he did not go for the cover.

This provided an opportunity for Jeff Jarret but it was not enough, as Hangman Page went for a Buckshot Lariat and another Deadeye to seal the deal and help him advance to the semifinals for a match against Jay White.
