CHRISTIE SIDES IS TAKING HEAT FOR CONTROVERSIAL DECISION IN LOSS TO ACES

Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides has faced a lot of criticism this WNBA season, and unfortunately for her, that's not going to change anytime soon.

Sides got crushed by the fan base on Tuesday night for refusing to play veteran guard Lexie Hull against the Las Vegas Aces.

Hull, a former first-round pick from Stanford, is averaging 3.2 points and 1.3 rebounds per game this season. She's not lighting up the boxscore by any means, but she's knocking down 35 percent of her attempts from the 3-point line.

Fever fans believe Hull deserved playing time over Erica Wheeler and Kristy Wallace. They combined for just four points on seven shot attempts.

"It's almost as if there are some exceptionally talented players that are hiding the incompetence of Christie Sides," one fan wrote. "Players such as Wallace, Wheeler should only play garbage time."

Another fan said, "Christie Sides has to get fired!"

"Coaching malpractice," a third fan commented.

Hull saw extended minutes on June 27 against the Seattle Storm. She then played just five minutes against the Phoenix Mercury on June 30.

It's possible Sides is making minor adjustments to her rotation in an effort to improve the offense. The fans in Indiana, however, won't let her use that as an excuse.

The Fever return to the hardwood on Saturday against the New York Liberty.
