ALABAMA LANDS FOUR-STAR EDGE RUSHER OVER OTHER ELITE SCHOOLS
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has been on an absolute tear on the recruiting trail. It still remains to be seen how his coaching style will translate from Washington to Alabama — where expectations are sky high — but DeBoer has certainly filled Nick Saban's large shoes in recruiting so far.
Alabama's latest recruiting win is undoubtedly a massive one. Justin Hill, four-star EDGE rusher from Cincinnati committed to the Crimson Tide over Ohio State, USC and Oregon.
“Obviously they’re the standard when it comes to college football,” Hill had told On3 after an official visit to Alabama in June. “They have been for awhile. I’ve always liked the school and how they’re ran. I fell in love with how the campus is, how calm it is, how they play football. How the staff is open. I came down for the spring game and I was welcomed by the fans. Kids were asking me for autographs and it was great to feel welcomed.”
That official visit was clearly the tipping point for Alabama because there was a time when OSU was seen as the favorite to land the four-star.
Hill is seen as a big-time prospect thanks to a junior season at Winton Woods High School that saw him notch 36 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 13 sacks and two forced fumbles. A strong senior season will put even more hype on his recruiting profile.
According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, he's already the No. 4 EDGE in the 2025 class and the No. 58 overall player in the country.
DeBoer's already elite 2025 class just got a little bit stronger with his addition. Right now at No. 2 in the nation, the Tide are competing with Ohio State for the distinction of No. 1 overall recruiting class when all is said and done.
Beating out OSU for Hill is a massive win for the Tide in that department and more.
