As the Stanley Cup Playoffs roll on into their second full week, 11 teams still remain. More than a few teams not eliminated have been pushed to the brink. Which team left will lift the Cup in June?
The New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning avoided sweeps with wins in their respective Game 4 clashes, though the Florida Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes eliminated Tampa and New York in their respective Game 5s. On Sunday, the Washington Capitals fell to the New York Rangers in a 4-0 series sweep. The Rangers were the first team to advance to the second round of the NHL playoffs with their win.
In the West, three teams extended their series leads on Sunday, pushing more teams to the edge of elimination. Two of those teams avoided elimination on Tuesday, though the Colorado Avalanche became the first team in the Western Conference to advance with a Game 5 win.
