EX-BRUINS DEFENDER SETS NHL RECORD

Former Boston Bruin Jeremy Lauzon made history last night, as the Nashville Predators defenseman set a new NHL record by posting his 383rd hit of the season.

Lauzon passed New York Islanders tough guy Matt Martin (2014-15) by recording an impressive nine hits on the night. Due to Lauzon's high number of hits against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Lauzon now has 386 on the season.

Lauzon has found a great fit with the Predators and has emerged as one of their key defenders. Besides stepping up his physicality, he has set new career highs this season with six goals and 14 points.

Lauzon, 26, is undoubtedly a player the Bruins could use right now. They have often been criticized for not having a tough enough blue line, especially on their left side. As a result, it still stings that they lost him in the expansion draft to the Seattle Kraken.

In 76 games as a Bruin, Lauzon had three goals, 11 points, 145 hits, and a plus-12 rating.
