VETERAN PRO BOWL LINEBACKER WOULD MAKE GREAT ADDITION TO PACKERS' NEW DEFENSE

The Green Bay Packers are looking to capitalize on the momentum they built towards the end of the 2023 season. While their offense is fantastic thanks to quarterback Jordan Love, there are some questions regarding their defense.

While the Packers' defense performed well last season and most of their players are returning, the team does have a new defensive coordinator in Jeff Hafley. According to Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report, a great option for Green Bay's new defense would be veteran linebacker Kwon Alexander.

In his eight-year career in the NFL, Alexander has garnered 631 total tackles, 13.5 sacks, and 12 forced fumbles. He was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2015, led the league in tackles in 2016, and was named to the 2017 Pro Bowl.

Alexander played for the Pittsburgh Steelers last year, earning 41 tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack, and an interception before tearing his Achilles tendon in the Week 10 game against the Packers.

"Injuries have been an issue for Alexander throughout his NFL career," Knox said. "He played all 17 games in 2022, but he's missed at least four games in every other since since 2017. However, he's a seasoned vet who can provide leadership and be an effective second-level coverage option.

"Due to his injury history and age—he'll turn 30 in August—Alexander should be available at a team-friendly price."

Knox believes that it's unlikely that Alexander will return to the Steelers, but said that he'd be a great fit for the Baltimore Ravens and Green Bay.

"The Green Bay Packers could also use Alexander's services after parting with linebacker De'Vondre Campbell early in the offseason. In Green Bay, Alexander could help mentor rookie second-round pick Edgerrin Cooper."
