BEARS COULD SAY GOODBYE TO VETERAN RUNNING BACK COME TRAINING CAMP

2024 is set to be a game-changing year for the Chicago Bears. Not only are they all in on Caleb Williams, but they have made multiple moves to support the rookie quarterback.

Unfortunately, this is likely to come at the cost of several players who have already been with the organization for years. According to Joe Tansey of Bleacher Report, this could include running back Khalil Herbert.

While Herbert has done well with the Bears, his no. 1 position has been taken by D'Andre Swift, a Pro Bowler who ran for over 1000 yards with the Philadelphia Eagles last year.

On top of this, Chicago also has Roschon Johnson, who has enough skill and potential to be a backup for Swift. While Herbert has more experience than Johnson, this also makes him a better trade candidate for the Bears.

"Khalil Herbert is the most logical trade candidate on Chicago's running back depth chart," Tansey said. "Herbert enters training camp as the No. 3 running back on the depth chart and there may not be room for him to move upward.

"Herbert ran for over 600 yards in each of the last two seasons. That should be intriguing for any team in search of running back depth. Of course, the Bears could keep Herbert as insurance in case an injury happens, but he may want more snaps from the start of the season."

Herbert is still beloved by Bears fans, but there are still teams that need a decent running back and are willing to pay for it. Don't be surprised if you soon see Herbert on the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, or Cincinnati Bengals.
