SIMONE BILES SHARES VIDEO OF THE NERVE-WRACKING MOMENTS BEFORE GYMNASTS FOUND OUT WHO WOULD GO TO OLYMPICS

Biles shared a video showing how nervous she was before being officially named to her third U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team

The results seemed all but certain, yet Simone Biles was still nervous before getting the official word that she was headed to the Paris Summer Olympics later this month.

In a new clip posted to the 27-year-old U.S. gymnasts’ Instagram Stories, Biles is seen anxiously awaiting the final roster sheet for the 2024 Summer Games alongside her fellow teammates, Joscelyn Roberson, Jordan Chiles and Jade Carey.

Chiles, 23, has her head resting on Biles’ shoulder as all four gymnasts tightly hold hands with one another in their white Team USA warmup uniforms. “The anticipation,” Biles wrote in the post.

A short while later, Biles and the other athletes found out they were all headed to Paris for this summer’s Olympics.

Biles, Chiles, Carey, Sunni Lee, and newcomer Hezly Rivera were all named to the official U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team on Sunday, June 30, while Roberson and Leanne Wong would be the team’s two traveling replacement athletes.

In doing so, Biles became only the fourth American woman ever to make it on three gymnastics teams for the Summer Olympics. The four-time gold medalist will look to add to her seven overall medals when the 2024 Summer Games kick off on July 26.

Katie Walsh, who directed Biles’ new Netflix documentary, Simone Biles Rising, told PEOPLE last week that Biles is “a perfectionist” and Americans can expect her to come to Paris with a particular fire in her performance.

“She knows what she's capable of and she doesn't want anything less than that," Walsh said, adding, "She still wins the night because she’s so, so good. But I think little mistakes like that are good because it kind of puts a little fire in her. So I think she's going to come out and really kill it [at the U.S. Trials], which I'm excited for. But I just — honestly, I just want her to be happy, and I know that she's in a good place and that makes me happy."

Biles will be on somewhat of a redemption tour coming into Paris after stepping out of the Tokyo Summer Olympics in 2021 due to what she called “twisties.”

"It took a lot mentally and physically to just trust my gymnastics again and most importantly trust myself," Biles said last month after winning her record ninth U.S. Championship. "I think that was the hardest part after Tokyo is I didn't trust myself to do gymnastics."

But Biles says she’s ready for the 2024 Games after a trying 2021 Olympics. "Now, having gone to two Olympics, each one gets a little bit more stressful because I know exactly what to expect,” Biles said. “I know exactly what I expect from myself."
