PHILADELPHIA 76ERS PLAYER JOINING GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS

The Philadelphia 76ers have been very busy the last few days. Of course, the headline-grabbing move has been that of Paul George, who joins Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey in the City of Brotherly Love to form a Big Three.

The 76ers have been making other moves as well, that could potentially get them closer to being Championship contenders.

Andre Drummond and Kelly Oubre Jr. have been given two-year contracts with the 76ers. Eric Gordon has been handed a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum.

The 76ers' roster for the future is certainly taking shape. On the other hand, there are those heading in the opposite direction and leaving Philadelphia.

According to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the 76ers have agreed to send Buddy Hield to the Golden State Warriors via a sign-and-trade. The Sixers will receive the Dallas Mavericks’ 2031 second-round pick in return.

Hield spent a short time in Philadelphia, having joined the 76ers in February and his stint with the franchise was not a success.

Hield was not expected to return to the 76ers as a free agent. That being said, it is not hard to see why the Warriors decided to add the 31-year-old to their roster this offseason.

The Warriors are starting a new era this summer, following the departure of Klay Thompson. That is the official end of their dynasty, which produced four Championships over the past decade.

Thompson was a key part of that era and established himself as one of the best three-point shooters in history during his time with the Warriors.

The Warriors appear to be looking to replace Thompson's prowess from range by bringing in Hield.

Hield is a career 40% shooter from beyond the arc and has actually made the most threes in the NBA over the past five seasons. Even more than Steph Curry.
