NBA LEGEND DWIGHT HOWARD NAMES TWO TEAMS KLAY THOMPSON SHOULD JOIN

Dwight Howard doesn't see a situation where LeBron James would leave the Los Angeles Lakers, but he does think Klay Thompson should leave the Golden State Warriors for either the Lakers or San Antonio Spurs.

James staying in Los Angeles is a given after the team used the No. 55 overall pick of the 2024 NBA draft on his son, Bronny James. The two are set to make history as the first father-son duo ever in the NBA.

As for Thompson, the expectations are that he is on his way out of Golden State. Per The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Warriors are preparing to lose the five-time NBA All-Star in free agency.

"I don’t think Lebron leaving but Klay should either go to LA or San Antonio," Howard posted on social media.

The Spurs have a future superstar in center Victor Wembanyama, but they also only won 22 games last season. It's hard to see the fit for a 34-year-old Thompson on a Spurs team that's still in the rebuilding phase.

However, Los Angeles is a destination that would make sense. Thompson would be a solid fit with James and Anthony Davis as an added spot-up perimeter shooter.

Despite it being considered a down year for Thompson, he still finished last season averaging the fifth-most 3-pointers made per game (3.5). He averaged 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Father Time and injuries have robbed him of his elite defense, but he can still blow up a scoreboard on any given night. He's a solid piece that could give James and the Lakers new life as championship contenders.
