DRAYMOND GREEN GETS HONEST ABOUT KLAY THOMPSON LEAVING WARRIORS

Throughout the entire 2023-24 NBA regular season, the Golden State Warriors couldn’t escape all the noise surrounding future Hall of Famer Klay Thompson and his immediate future with the team, as it seems like everything was pointing in the direction of him leaving in NBA free agency this summer.

Although some believed that Thompson would eventually come to terms with a lucrative long-term deal with the Warriors to finish his career in the Bay Area, that never came to fruition, as the two sides couldn’t see eye-to-eye on a new deal.

Ultimately, Thompson became a hot commodity on the open market, and after flirting with the Los Angeles Lakers and a return home, the four-time NBA champion chose to join forces with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving and sign with the Dallas Mavericks on a three-year deal.

In the aftermath of Thompson choosing to leave the Warriors in favor of the Mavericks, former teammate Draymond Green shared his thoughts on the situation on his podcast and admitted that all good things must come to an end via The Volume.

With the Warriors committing to Stephen Curry and Green long-term and not willing to do a similar deal with Thompson, it comes as no surprise that he felt slighted and wanted a fresh start elsewhere.

The question now is whether Thompson will be the missing piece to the Mavericks’ championship puzzle and whether he will win another title before Curry and Green do in Golden State moving forward because Dallas is clearly the better team right now in comparison.
