LEGENDARY U.S. GYMNAST RETURNS TO SPORT AFTER 8 YEARS AWAY

One of the best U.S. gymnasts of the 21st century returned to the sport this month after eight years away.

Gabby Douglas, who became the first Black woman to win the all-around Gold medal in women's gymnastics at the 2012 Summer Games, returned to competition this weekend. She competed in the American Classic.

The gold medal-winning gymnast posted a 50.65 score in the all-around event. She also pulled off an epic double-twisting Yurchenko on the vault.

Douglas has qualified for a spot in the U.S. Championships in June. She'll hope to qualify for the Summer Olympics in Paris, France.

Douglas had previously attempted to make a comeback in February, though it got pushed back until this month.

She's made it clear that she still has great love for the sport.

"I would just love to go back out there and represent USA just one more time and just to have that feeling of being a part of something, being a part of a team again, would be amazing and a huge honor," she said back in February.

It'll be fun to watch her competing for a spot in the Summer Olympics in June.
